Troy-Bilt TB539E 17-Inch 29cc 4-Cycle

The Troy Bilt TB539E 17-Inch 29cc 4-Cycle Gas-Powered has several nice features and a couple that are completely unnecessary. I think one of the problems is that I have never found a 5-star weedwacker.... all of them seem to have a couple major issues. The same is true here... but first the things I like. Pros- - Plenty of power - this 4 cycle 29cc engine has plenty of power to cut through high grass and weeds. - Easy to start - a couple of pulls and this thing starts right up. - Part of the Expand-it set, so you have plenty of options for additional tools. Cons- - So far I have found the electric starter completely useless - it takes much longer to start using the electric start than to just pull-start the unit. - The trimmer string and spool that comes with the Troy Bilt does not work. I could not get the string wound nor could I get it back together. Fortunately, for me I have a separate trimmer that I used with my previous trimmer. - The shoulder strap.... it doesn't work for me. In fact, the shoulder strap causes the trimmer to point up instead of down... it guess it alters the pivot point of the unit. Final Verdict- I really like the power and ease of the unit, but some of the additional features are worse than useless - they needlessly raise the cost of the product without contributing any benefits. My recommendation, by the Troy Bilt that does NOT have the electric start included. 3 Stars
